The Short Version

The Apple Watch Ultra 2 refines the original Ultra formula: same rugged titanium case, brighter 3000-nit display, new S4 SiP for faster responses, and a new Modular Ultra watch face. 72-hour battery in low-power mode is the longest of any Apple Watch.

Bottom line: Rugged titanium build, 72-hour battery, brightest display Apple makes. Built for adventure, great for everyone.

Display & Battery

3000 nits peak brightness is visible in direct sunlight — a genuine upgrade from the Series 9's 1000 nits. The always-on display is vibrant indoors and out. In normal use we got 36 hours per charge. Enabling low-power mode extended it to 72 hours, but with fewer background health checks.

✓ Pros

  • Brightest display on any smartwatch (3000 nits)
  • 72-hour battery in low-power mode
  • Rugged titanium build
  • Best GPS accuracy in any wearable
  • Action button customization
  • Dual-frequency GPS

✗ Cons

  • Very expensive at $799
  • Large case not for small wrists
  • Still needs daily charging in normal mode
  • No third-party watch faces
  • titanium scratches over time
